UnitusTI Package Editor — User Manual
This manual is for center staff with the Author role who build marketplace package manifests : course structure, linked assessments, and published custom forms.
The Package Editor lets you:
- Create packages and edit their manifest (title, description, footer, splash image).
- Arrange courses and units , link units to assessments, and set thumbnails.
- Register which assessments and forms belong in the package manifest.
- Save the manifest so learners and the marketplace use the updated structure.
The first breadcrumb label is Packages . The editor opens from Author → My Packages (not from the Center → My Packages screen, which only edits basic package metadata in the classic page).
1. Open the Package Editor
- Sign in to UnitusTI and select your center.
- Open the Author submenu.
- Choose My Packages .
Your profile must include the Author role and the author module must be enabled for the center. If Author or My Packages is missing, ask an administrator.
The list shows package names as links. The top-right button is Add Package .

Thumbnails (package splash, course, unit) |
Uploaded when you pick an image; included in the manifest when you Save . |
If you leave the package page with unsaved manifest edits, the browser may warn you. The Save button shows a dot when there are unsaved changes.
3. Packages list
The breadcrumb shows Packages .
Click a package name to open it. Click Add Package to create a new one.
While the list loads, a loading message appears. If loading fails, an error snackbar shows at the bottom of the screen.

- Code — unique id (letters, numbers, underscore _ , dash - , up to 64 characters). Cannot be changed later.

- Click Apply .
The center creates the package, an empty manifest, and installs it for your center. You are taken to the new package editor. Splash image upload is available after creation via Edit Details .

9.1 Title and description
You can type Title and Description , or check:
- Use title from linked assessment
- Use description from linked assessment
When a box is checked, the field follows the assessment linked in Content source . If the assessment id is missing from the manifest, a warning explains that no assessment matches.
9.2 Content source
Assessment ID — pick an assessment already listed on the Assessments tab. Use Clear selection for no linked assessment. If the manifest has no assessments yet, helper text tells you to add them on the Assessments tab first.
9.3 Unit settings
Non-scoreable — unit does not contribute to scoring.
Click Apply , then Save on the package page.
10. Assessments tab
The table columns are Assessment ID , Title , Description , and Type .
Click Add Assessment to search and select assessments from your center. Selected items are added to the manifest in memory. Click Save to persist.
To remove an assessment:
- Open the row menu and choose Delete .
- Confirm when asked.
If any unit still references that assessment id, delete is blocked. A message lists the unit titles that use it. Remove or change those units first.
11. Forms tab
The table columns are ID , Title , Description , and Version .
Click Add form to search published custom forms. Each selected form is linked to the package on the server immediately; the table reloads.
To remove a form from the manifest, use the row menu Delete and confirm. Click Save if you have other unsaved manifest changes.
Forms must be published in Center → Forms before they appear in search.

14. Troubleshooting
Problem |
What to try |
Author or My Packages is missing |
You need the Author role and the author module on the center. |
Code will not validate |
Use only letters, numbers, _ , and - , max 64 characters. |
Save seems ignored |
Check for an error snackbar. Confirm you are on the package page, not only Apply in a dialog. |
Dot on Save never clears |
Another edit may have been made, or save failed. Reload the package and compare. |
Cannot delete an assessment |
A unit still references it. Edit or delete those units on Courses . |
Assessment ID list is empty in unit dialog |
Add assessments on the Assessments tab and Save . |
Add form finds nothing |
Publish the form in Forms first. Only published templates are searchable. |
Thumbnail upload fails |
Use a valid image file. Retry; check the error message. |
Package fails to load |
Verify the package code in the URL and that your center owns the package. |
