Target Types*
(Chosen when creating program templates to enable this DAT)
|
|
Discrete Trial
|
- Used to take data on trials that have a clear beginning and end
- Number of trials is the same for each session
- Order of target is set in configuration
- New targets appear automatically
- Concurrent target percentages are collapsed and graphed as one data point
- Concurrent targets are mastered together
- Template target type is usually label

Probe
|
- Number of trials is the same for each session
- Prompts cannot be included
- Order of targets is set in configuration
- Percentage correct is calculated for each target separately
- When one target is mastered, a new one automatically appears but targets that were not mastered remain in acquisition
- Data point is recorded for each target on the graph
- Data must be completed on all current target to record data
- Template target type is usually label

Natural Environment (NET)
|
- A minimum number of trials can be set
- Trials can be added and deleted while the program is being run
- A minimum number of targets can be set to be displayed
- Targets can be added to the data page in any order
- Percentage correct calculated for each target separately
- Targets are mastered separately
- Data point is recorded for each target on the graph
- Template target type is usually label

Frequency
|
- Optional countdown timer
- Targets are presented one per session until mastered. Set the order of targets in the Manage Programs configuration.
- Tally button counts up
- Template target type is numeric

Duration
|
- Target type in template must be set to “time”
- Timer counts up
- Targets are presented one per session until mastered. Set the order of targets in the Manage Programs configuration.
- Timer can be stopped and restarted
- Template target type is time

Interval
|
- Typical goal: Trying to extend the amount of time the subject engages in a positive behavior
- Whole and partial are not defined in DAT setup. Whole means client has to engage in behavior for entire time. Partial means if they engage in behavior at all during the time, that’s success. Notes can be made as to which way data is interpreted.
- Targets are in ascending order
- Intervals mean during what period you wish to collect data. Data points appear as each interval comes up during the timer.
- Time targets are mastered based on percentage correct (% allows for natural distraction that occurs when subject is engaging in a behavior, e.g. playing with toy and for a moment looking around, etc.)
- Target type in template must be set to “time”
- Can be used for whole, partial or momentary time sampling
- Timer counts interval time
- Data points appear when each interval is complete
- Number of data points depends on total duration set in configuration as a target time
- Template target type is time

Task Analysis
|
- Typically uses prompt hierarchy to track what steps need more or less prompting.
- Can be set as forward chain, backward chain, or total task in configuration
- Forward chain allows data to be taken from the first step to the last step only as steps are mastered
- Backward chain allows data to be taken from the last mastered step to the first step
- Total task allows data to be taken in any order
- Template target type is usually label

Rating Scale
|
- Scoring criteria must be set in template
- Target type in the template does not matter, though label is recommended
- Choose to track the number of prompts required while configuring the program – note that this cannot be changed once the program has been assigned
- Template target type is usually label

* Target Types: Target Types are set up in a program template to determine the type(s) of data that can be taken. The target type set in a program template determines which DATs can be chosen while assigning the program to a Client’s program list in Manage Programs. The available target types are:
|
LABEL
Allows these DATs:
- Discrete trial
- Probe
- NET
- Task Analysis
- Rating scale (if scoring criteria is present in template)
|
NUMERIC
Allows these DATs:
- Frequency
- Discrete trial
- Probe
- NET
- Rating scale
|
TIME
Allows these DATs:
- Duration
- Interval
- Discrete trial
- Probe
- NET
- Rating scale
